We are sharing the GCSE 2025 results that students of the Frederic Chopin Polish Saturday School in South Croydon had reported to us by 26 August 2025:
- grade 9 – 15 students,
- grade 8 – 1 student.
This summary includes only the results reported by students up to the date of publication, so it is not a complete overview of the 2025 exam series at our school.
The GCSE grading scale
In 2025, GCSE results were published on 21 August. In England, these exams are graded on a scale from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest grade. The numerical scale, introduced gradually from 2017, replaced the old letter grades from A* to G. Grade 9 is awarded for the very best work, and grade 8 is also one of the highest on this scale. For comparison, grade 4 is regarded as a standard pass and grade 5 as a strong pass. GCSE exams are usually taken at the end of Year 11, at around the age of 16, and their results matter when choosing the next stage of education, for example A-level courses.
A shared success
Such high grades are the result of the students’ steady work, the commitment of their teachers and the support of parents, who accompany their children in their learning over many years. For young people who attend British schools during the week and a Polish school on Saturdays, every result like this is a reason to be especially proud.
Congratulations to our teachers, students and parents!
