Learning does not have to be a tedious chore – it can be a fascinating adventure full of discovery and satisfaction. That is what the pupils found out when, during Saturday lessons in January 2026, they split into groups and set off on a journey through six activity stations.

Activity stations are a teaching method that not only engages pupils in the learning process but also develops their ability to cooperate, their creativity and their independence. Each station is different and calls for different skills, knowledge and effort. Groups move from one station to the next in turn, so that not only the task but also the type of activity changes.

The photographs show how varied the tasks were: movement cards with instructions such as ‘Curl up into a ball like a hedgehog’ and ‘Slither like a snake’, making words from wooden letters, matching captions to pictures, worksheets and LCD writing tablets on which the children wrote vowels.

It was loud and lively, there was plenty of laughter, and the children’s eyes shone with delight. The best summary of the day came from the pupils themselves:

‘I love these lessons, and station number 6 is the one I like best’ ‘I love everything we did today’ ‘Will it be like this again next week?’
