Dear Parents,

The school year is slowly drawing to a close. On 20 May we meet for the last time before half-term, after which we will have five school Saturdays left. We will spend one of them on a school trip, and the last Saturday – 8 July – will be the end of the school year.

We will welcome the new school year in a NEW SCHOOL As you probably know, we currently rent the entire school building and there are no more free classrooms that we could rent. For some time we had been thinking about changes and new opportunities. Sometimes, however, it is hard to step out towards new prospects, beyond what we already know. It turns out that fate has made the decision for us. Regina Coeli has not renewed its contract with our school for the 2017/2018 school year. As a result, we were forced to look for a new, welcoming host school. A binding reply to our proposals came last Tuesday, 9 May, which is why I can only share it with you today.

The school's new premises will be at Purely Oaks Primary School, Bynes Road, Croydon, CR20PR. The school is served by buses 312, 60, 166, 407, 466 and N68 (South Croydon Bus Garage stop) and by train to Purley Oaks and Sanderstead stations. The school is much bigger than Regina Coeli and, in our assessment, has more potential and more opportunities than the one we currently rent.

As this news is only being announced now, after internal re-enrolment has already taken place, we ask parents who would like to give up their child's place at the school to inform the School Administrator, the Headteacher or the class teachers. There are still many children on the waiting lists, so we would ask you not to hold on to places you do not need.

We are very excited about the new opportunities and cannot wait for the new school year!!

In the meantime, in the current one, we still have plenty to do. Please remember to complete and hand in the application for a school ID card by 20 May:

I am also passing on a request from the ladies who work in the library:

The library team would like to inform all pupils and parents that next Saturday, i.e. 20/05/2017, will be the last day on which books can be borrowed from our library. We also ask children to return overdue books; some have had books on loan since November. We would remind you that the library rules clearly state that books may be kept for a maximum of 30 days.

There will be no school on the next two Saturdays, i.e. 27/05 and 03/06, because of half-term.

We return to school on Saturday 10/06/2017, and this will be the final deadline for returning all books to the library. We kindly ask parents to make sure that books are returned on that day, as afterwards the library will be closed for the stocktake that we must carry out before the end of the school year. Thank you. The library team

On 4 June 2017 at 14:00, at St Gertrude's parish (CR26EY), a group of 25 pupils from our school will receive their First Holy Communion. We warmly invite all teachers, parents and pupils to join in the celebration and prayer together.

This Saturday, 20 May 2017, the duty will be carried out by the parents of pupils in classes P2 and D2. After half-term, on 10 June, the parents of pupils in classes Pre-school 1 and E are responsible for the duty.

Warm regards,

Irena Kukuła Headteacher
