Fundacja Edukacji Polonijnej (Polish Diaspora Education Foundation) is organising a Children's Day competition entitled
‘Ścieżką polskich legend’ (‘Along the Path of Polish Legends’)!
Children's Day is a perfect opportunity for great fun and, at the same time, for uncovering more secrets of Polish culture. This time we will do it in a completely different way from before. The leading role will be played by Polish legends and a competition prepared especially for you!
Legends pass on to us valuable knowledge about the lives of real people, enchanted figures, objects and places from the past. They shape a child's world, adding a touch of magic to it. They lead us along previously unknown paths through Polish cities and explain the secrets hidden in the nooks and crannies of the metropolis. Legends are a wonderful adventure and, at the same time, a lesson in life through the morals and values they convey. With this in mind, Fundacja Edukacji Polonijnej has prepared a competition for you in which you yourselves can become a beautiful princess, a brave knight or a fearsome dragon straight out of your favourite legend! You are warmly invited to take part!
Conditions of entry:
to enter the competition, simply take a photo showing the child in a home-made costume of a chosen character from a Polish legend (a detailed list of legends is in the rules),
we invite children aged 5–12 to take part (there are different age categories),
the recording should be sent to: sekretariat@polonia.edu.pl, marked ‘Konkurs’ (Competition),
don't forget to send us your first name, surname, age, place of residence and the legend you are presenting,
the entry should be signed with the participant's first name, surname, age and country of residence,
we look forward to receiving your entries until 10 June 2017.
