Dear Parents!

So much is happening at our school!! Last Saturday we welcomed teachers and young people from three Polish schools near Nałęczów. The young people had an English breakfast together with our oldest pupils. They talked about the similarities and differences between life in Poland and in Great Britain. They learnt what studying and working at a Polish community school abroad involves, and finally took part in a history lesson and an early primary education lesson. Thank you to Ms Agnieszka Mikrut and Ms Kasia Adams for welcoming the young people into their classes!

We have finally moved our things to the new school! It all went very smoothly! Thank you to Mr Radek Mierzejewski for overseeing the move, to Mr Darren Tickle for the vehicle, to the Parents’ Committee and to all the unnamed dads who helped us with the move. Thanks also to our librarians, who spent the whole day sorting books and moving them from boxes onto the shelves. Thank you!!!

Our school café is also up and running. We offer what we have! You are warmly invited to come along! Here you can not only buy and drink a coffee, but also buy bread, doughnuts and home-baked cake made by Ms Kasia Karkut. The cake is delicious and it is worth buying a slice for Sunday too. The money raised in the café is spent on the needs of the children at our school. The café is in the Large Hall. The entrance is through the gate leading to the School Office. We look forward to seeing you!

This coming Saturday our school will host educational workshops for pupils in classes A–H. They will be run by educators from Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (Institute of National Remembrance) in Gdańsk. The younger pupils will learn the story of Wojtek the bear, and the older ones will find out about the history of No. 303 Squadron. We are awaiting these workshops with great hope and impatience!

Also on Saturday, a psychologist from Stowarzyszenie Polskich Psychologów w Wielkiej Brytanii (Polish Psychologists’ Association in Great Britain) will hold her first session. Anyone interested in a meeting is asked to contact the Headteacher.

On 7 October at 12:45, the General Meeting of the School Council will take place. At the meeting, reports on the school’s educational, administrative and financial activities in the 2016/2017 school year will be presented. Do join us!

I would also like to remind you that the school is not responsible for children left by their parents in the ‘playground’ before 8:45.

This coming Saturday, 30 September, the duty will be covered by the parents of pupils in classes E1 and D, and on 7 October by the parents of pupils in class C3. We kindly ask for your attendance!

With warm regards

Irena Kukuła
