Dear Parents,
This Saturday, 27 April, we begin the final term of the 2018/2019 school year. On 27 April the parents of pupils in classes Z2 and G are on duty; on 4 May the parents of pupils in classes A1 and D2.
From 8:50, the Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Mr Tomasz Balcerowski, will be at the school to assist you. He will answer all your questions about school ID cards and hand out to the children those that have been prepared by the Consulate. You are warmly invited to the Theatre Hall.
On 27 April we will be celebrating Book Day at school.
On this day, children dress up as a character from a book. In the older classes, instead of a costume, they may wear a ‘literacy hat’ (Literacy Hat).
We will be welcoming to the school Ms Anna Marzec-Manser, author of the book ‘Jancia ze Lwowa’ (Jancia from Lwów). You will be able to buy the author's books and ask for an autograph. Books will be available in Polish and English.
The library will be open until 13:00. It will be a ‘Sweet Library’ J Every child who borrows a book will also receive a lollipop.
As we have already announced, on this day we very much want to raise some of the funds needed to buy a laptop and good software for the school library. At present, readers' cards are kept in wooden boxes with dividers, and the book catalogues are written out in thick notebooks. Working in the library is very difficult. If possible, we ask the children to bring £1 on Book Day and put it in the collection tins held by their form tutors or in the library. Thank you!!!
4 May is the deadline for submitting enrolment declarations for the next school year (internal enrolment for pupils currently attending the school).
We would also like to remind you that, as the trip on 22 June has been cancelled, the fees for Term 3 (payment due by 20 April 2019) are reduced and will be:
£96 for the first child
£176 for two children
£248 for three or more
Warm regards
Irena Kukuła Headteacher
