Dear Parents,

PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE

As the trip on 22 June has been cancelled, the fees for Term 3 (payment due by 20 April 2019) are reduced and will be:

£96 for the first child

£176 for two children

£248 for three or more

Every year in June we organised a trip for our pupils and parents. It took place on the day when Purley Oaks holds its Summer Fair, and for that reason we cannot hire the school building. As a school, we covered 50% of the cost of the trip.

This year we planned a trip to one of the Scouts Camps. Unfortunately, it recently turned out that only children aged 8 and over may enter the campsite. In addition, the cost of coach travel and entry to the campus is very high, and the school is unable to subsidise the trip.

Taking all of the above into account, the decision was made to cancel the trip on 22 June 2019. It will be a day with no school lessons.

A reminder that we have finished Term 2 and will meet again at school on 27 April at 9:00. A big thank you to all the parents involved in working for the school: the School Board, the Parents' Committee, our librarians, the accountants, the Audit Committee, Mr Sebastian Blaszczyk, who coordinates the duty rota, and ALL the parents who look after the children's safety and turn up for duty on their allocated dates.

THANK YOU….

What is coming up soon?

7 April – at 12:00, the oldest group of our pupils will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during Holy Mass at Holy Innocents parish, 192A Selhurst Rd, Sout Norwood, SE25 6XX. Everyone is invited to attend this event and to pray for this group of 12 young people from our school.

27 April – 9:00 – start of Term 3. Book Day

a. On this day, children dress up as a character from a book. In the older classes, instead of a costume, they may wear a ‘literacy hat’ (Literacy Hat).

b. We will be welcoming to the school Ms Anna Marzec-Manser, author of the book ‘Jancia ze Lwowa’ (Jancia from Lwów).

c. The library will be open until 13:00. It will be a ‘Sweet Library’ Every child who borrows a book will also receive a lollipop.

On this day we would like to raise some of the funds needed to buy the cheapest possible laptop and good software for the school library. At present, our librarians work the way things were done ‘in the olden

days’, say 30 years ago. Readers' cards are kept in wooden boxes with dividers, and the book catalogues are written out in thick notebooks. The work is very difficult and painstaking. We dream of making it easier for the children to borrow books and lighter work for our librarians. So, if possible, we ask you to bring £1 on Book Day and put it in the collection tins held by the form tutors or in the library. Thank you!!!

4 May – the deadline for submitting enrolment declarations for the next school year (internal enrolment for pupils currently attending the school)
