Dear Parents,

On 26 September the parents of pupils in class E2 are on duty. Please do attend!

It was so good to see you and your children on Saturday! We are delighted to be back at school, and although not everything has returned to normal, thank you for being with us!

We would like to thank Mr Sebastian Błaszczyk and the parents on duty for their help, which meant the children were able to eat their lunch smoothly and use the remaining time to rest and play in their ‘bubbles’.

As you will certainly have noticed, the field on the large ‘playground’ – which classes C to A-level enter at different times – has been divided into 3 sections by Purley Oaks. We had not been told about this beforehand, hence some organisational confusion. We hope the arrangements will be clearer for everyone from this Saturday.

a. Parents of pupils in the C classes come closest to the school building. They may walk up to the classroom, as far as the red line, to drop off and collect their child.

b. The middle section of the playground is for parents and pupils of the D and E classes.

c. The highest section of the playground, right by the wall, is where parents of pupils in classes F, G, H, GCSE and A-level drop off and collect their children.

Please remember that everyone should keep their distance from one another. To minimise the number of people on the school playground, only one parent may accompany a child to school.

As you will no doubt remember, in March we lost two school Saturdays because of the lockdown. From April until the end of the school year, 98% of our teachers worked remotely. Form tutors agreed with parents whether this would be online lessons, Google Classroom or any other way of delivering the curriculum that parents preferred. Not all parents took up this option, but the lessons did take place.

The school did not charge fees for these lessons. The School Board therefore decided to use the money from the two cancelled March sessions to pay, at least in part, for the teachers' three months of remote work.

Warm regards
