Dear Parents,
On 12 March the parents of pupils in class A1 are on duty; on 19 March the parents of pupils in the A-level class. Please do attend.
We are all living with the war in Ukraine. Among thousands of aid initiatives, there is also our own practical help.
On Saturday, the C classes decided to show their support for a Ukrainian boy who is their classmate – and made rosettes. Thanks to the tremendous work of their Teaching Assistant, Ms Dagmara, the ribbons and stickers were prepared the day before. The children made the rosettes in class with great enthusiasm, and decided to sell the ones that were left over. They raised £143. The money has been paid in here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/KentroNexusXenia-AidUkraine
Our pupils are drawing cards and writing letters full of support to children their age who are fleeing the war. The first parcel of letters set off for Poland yesterday, to the Lublin area. There, thanks to Ms Magda Wiącek, the letters will reach individual children.
Two pupils from class G, Matylda and Natalia, have proposed the ‘Ciastko dla Ukrainy’ (A Cake for Ukraine) campaign. Every Saturday until 2 April, from 12:15, four classes in turn will sell cakes/biscuits that they have brought in or baked themselves on the playground. The children have set a minimum price of £1 for two cakes, but they are counting on our generosity. On 12 March the cakes will be handled by classes F, G, JPJO and the Pre-school. All proceeds will be paid in here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/KentroNexusXenia-AidUkraine
You will find photos for points 1 and 2 in the attachment.
A few more words about the link. This fundraiser has been checked and recommended by Mr Daniel Życki (Parents' Committee). The money to help refugees is being collected by the company where Mr Daniel works. This week he will be travelling to Poland with humanitarian aid.
Our donations will not only help Ukraine but may also open doors for us to funding and support from this company at another time. I think it is very important that, by helping others, we may also have a chance of help for our own school.
Internal enrolment for the 2022/2023 school year is under way. Declarations will be accepted until 2 April 2023. After this date, those who have not submitted one may lose their place on the class lists. The enrolment form is currently unavailable to people from outside the school, and parents who wish to enrol siblings need the password 0066 to access the additional form.
