Dear Parents,
We've done it! The storage cupboard under the stairs is ready! 🙂 THANK YOU to Mr Sebastian Buczek and Mr Arkadiusz Kowalczyk for the plans, the work and for organising a team of volunteers. THANK YOU to the Parents' Committee and all the parents who supported us last Saturday. You can see photos of the work in progress on our Facebook page.
We have the opportunity to start new after-school eurhythmics (music and movement) classes for children aged 4–6. A second group could also be formed if there are children aged 7–11 who would like to join.
Eurhythmics is above all learning through play together, run in such a way that the child associates gaining knowledge with enjoyment.
Specially designed eurhythmics classes include a varied selection of exercises with elements of physical fitness training, sensitivity to changes in the music, familiarisation with musical concepts, movement to illustrate songs, elements of ballroom and group dancing, as well as relaxation to music and music therapy. Eurhythmics is accompanied by piano or keyboard.
The classes will run on Saturdays from 12:35 to 13:10 and will be led by Ms Joanna Strembicka, a graduate of music schools in Łódź (violin), currently a violin student at the Barbican Centre. Ms Joanna can also give violin lessons if anyone is interested. Contact: joanna.strembicka@stu.gsmol.ac.uk or the Headteacher at psscroydon.kukula@gmail.com
10 November – WEAR A ROSETTE!
This Saturday, before 9:00, pupils and class teachers will be selling handmade red-and-white rosettes (kotyliony). A rosette costs £1. We want to use the money raised for the school: to buy a national emblem, maps and some essential learning resources. Please support us – wear a rosette on 10 November! Children may also wear something in white and red if they wish.
We have also organised a big writing project, ‘Kartki dla Polski’ (Cards for Poland) – special messages for Poland on its 100th birthday. In the younger classes these will be pictures, in the middle classes a short letter or card, and in the oldest classes a longer letter. All the work, which is very moving, will be on display on 10 November. At 9:15 all parents who would like to come are invited to the theatre hall for a film screening. Popcorn, coffee and doughnuts guaranteed!
On 10 November the parents of pupils in classes A3 and D2 are on duty, and on 17 November B1 and D1.
Warm regards
Irena Kukuła Headteacher
