Dear Parents,

According to the school calendar, lessons resume after the half-term break this Saturday, 3 November 2018, at 9:00

What's coming up:

3 November – we are starting to build a storage shed where we will keep our school things. We have an enthusiastic building team, but we still need cheerful volunteer parents to help. We are sure there are some, we just don't know how many! Everyone is welcome! We will need help carrying things out, sorting and stacking them. Please come along! 9:15, Theatre Hall.

From 12:30 our sponsor, the Justin Green shop, invites the pupils of our school and all their friends to a Halloween party. There will definitely be something for everyone! The programme includes music, meeting Halloween characters, competitions and games, a barbecue and sweets. You are warmly invited!

10 November – before 9:00, pupils and class teachers will be selling rosettes made by the children themselves. Each rosette costs £1. With the money raised, we very much hope to buy a Polish national emblem, maps and some essential learning resources for the school. Please support us – wear a rosette on 10 November! We have also organised a big writing project, ‘A Card for Poland’: a special message to Poland for its 100th birthday. In the younger classes these will be pictures, in the middle classes a short letter or card, and in the oldest classes a longer letter. All the work, which is very moving, will be on display on 10 November. At 9:15 all parents are invited to a film screening in the Theatre Hall. Popcorn, coffee and doughnuts guaranteed!

17 November – as in previous years, our school will join the British fundraising appeal for disabled children and children in need of support – Children In Need. The idea is somewhat similar to the Polish Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity). Our school has registered its participation, and we will receive a fundraising pack containing collection tins, stickers for the children, posters etc. We ask all children to come to school in their PYJAMAS; alternatively, they can wear ‘teddy bear ears’, bows, spotty clothes or bow ties, etc.

More information and inspiration can be found here: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/fundraisinghub Please ask children to bring a small amount of money for Children In Need. We also encourage adults to join in, especially those who will be working on the school premises that day. On 10 November, parents of pupils in classes A3 and D2 are on duty.

With warm regards
