Dear Parents,
How wonderful that we can read every day – and our pupils even read in two languages. To mark Book Day, we prepared two activities for Saturday's lessons:
- a second-hand book sale for parents and pupils – before and after lessons, in the main school playground,
- a book swap for pupils – each pupil could bring in a book they no longer used and receive a token in return. The token could then be ‘spent’ on another book from among those brought in by other pupils.
World Book and Copyright Day, established by UNESCO in 1995, is celebrated on 23 April; in the UK, World Book Day usually falls at the beginning of March. A book swap is a simple way for books that have already been read to find new readers.
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off for books we go!
