On 6 July 2019, from 10:00, a family picnic will be held at the F. Chopin Polish Saturday School in South Croydon, CR20PY, to which we warmly invite children and parents!

Picnic attractions:

BBQ, a prize raffle, a play prepared by pupils under the direction of Ms Jolanta Janson, a chess simul, football competitions, a children's entertainer, a Toddlers' Corner and other attractions.

10:15 – Play in the Theatre Hall

We invite you to a play that is a journey through the centuries in search of the colours of childhood.

In almost 40 minutes we will visit several periods important to Poland to glimpse the everyday lives of children, their games and their duties.

During the performance you will be able to hear folk songs accompanied by piano and sing along with the performers.

Surprises also await the audience!!!

10:00–11:00 – chess simul with Łukasz Marek Piecha, a coach with the international chess organisation FIDE

We warmly invite children and parents to take part in a simul on 10 chessboards.

(a chess match in which Mr Łukasz plays many opponents at the same time, each of whom plays a game on their own board).

The prize for each win against the coach will be A FULL YEAR OF FREE CHESS CLASSES AT OUR SCHOOL.

From 11:15 to 12:15 – chess tournament

All interested children may take part in the tournament.

The tournament will consist of 5 games of 10 minutes each.

After 10 minutes, the result of each game will be decided.

Points will be counted.

Queen – 9 pts

Rook – 5 pts

Bishop – 3 pts

Knight – 3 pts

Pawn – 1 pt

A child who gains an advantage of 4 points wins the game and with it 3 points.

A draw earns 2 points and a loss 1 point.

Prizes and medals are planned for the top 2 places.

Pride Football Academy will provide lots of fun for all the children throughout the fête. There will be a chance to try your hand at several competitions with prizes. Prizes and vouchers for a month of free training at the ‘Pride’ Academy are up for grabs.

Toddlers' Corner/Children's Entertainer – fun and attractions for the children will be provided by ‘Smile Factory’.
