Dear Parents,
The virus pays no attention to our calendar, and another Saturday has gone by without us meeting at the Polish School. Our teachers, however, are still working, preparing lessons for the children on Google Classroom. All parents should have received an invitation from their class teachers to join their classes on this platform. Please do make use of it and log in! We want to use this time to revise material, but wherever possible we are also trying to keep up with the curriculum. Children who are not ‘following’ these lessons are simply missing out…
Recently, our teachers have been taking part in many online training sessions, including some on teaching ‘live’ lessons. We have discussed this at length, weighing up the pros and cons of such lessons. For the time being, there will be no ‘live’ lessons at our school, unless the class teacher of a particular class decides otherwise. Teachers are free to make the decision that will be best for the children, the parents and themselves.
There is a great deal of speculation about the return to school. It will certainly not be possible before 1 June. We are drawing up plans both for an extended lockdown and for reopening our school before September. We are awaiting the UK Government’s decision in May.
We would like to remind you that internal re-enrolment is under way. To secure your child’s place in their current group, please let the class teacher know by 11 May 2020 at the latest. After this date, we will begin enrolling children from outside the school and cannot guarantee a place at our school.
Families who would like to enrol a younger sibling in the Pre-school group or Zerówka are asked to e-mail administrator@polskaszkolacroydon.com – these applications will also be accepted until 11 May 2020.
