Dear Parents!

We have our last two school Saturdays ahead of us. Duties:

1 July – D2 + E2

8 July – B2

A big thank you to everyone on duty!

Please remind your children to return their books to the school library.

Below you will find a message from Mr Piotr Kośla about the Wojtek the Bear tournament:

‘Dear Parents,

We are looking for children aged 8 to 18 who enjoy games and having fun, and who would like to represent our school in next year’s IPN Wojtek the Bear Historical Board Games Tournament for Polish Schools Abroad. This is a new edition of what has so far been the Wojtek the Bear Tournament. The huge interest in the event from Polish schools around the world encouraged the organisers to expand the format with additional games and additional players in each team.

The tournament takes place in 2 stages:

Stage 1 is the regional qualifying round, held online.

Stage 2 is a trip to the tournament finals, which take place in Poland.

From the new school year, the competition is played by 5-person teams made up of players (children) and a team supervisor (a teacher).

The prize for the teams that get through the regional rounds is a trip to the final tournament in Warsaw. The stay of several days, combined with sightseeing in the capital and many other interesting events, is paid for in full by the organisers. Parents do not pay anything.

All those interested are warmly invited to the Players’ Club (Klub Gracza) session this coming Saturday, 1 July, at 12:35.

Parents should collect their child from the classroom after lessons. I will be waiting for you in the large playground and will invite you, together with the children, to the JPJO classroom, where I will explain the rules of the competition and the activities of the Club.

All additional information and a report on this year’s competition can be found in the attached links.
