Dear Parents,
On 7 November, parents of pupils in class B1 are on duty; on 14 November, parents of pupils in classes B2 and E1.
We hope that, despite the restrictions, everyone managed to rest and have a pleasant time. We also trust that, despite the uncertainty around us, you have not lost faith in a better tomorrow.
We are glad to be able to return to work. From September until half-term, we did not directly record a single report of C19 symptoms or a positive test among the pupils, teachers or parents of our school. One child had to self-isolate because of contact with a ‘positive’ classmate at their English school. Fortunately, both the child and their family stayed well.
This leads us to believe that our ‘risk assessment’ and the preventive measures we put in place have worked so far. We are very pleased about this!
Following Prime Minister Boris Johnson's announcement and the introduction of new restrictions, we expected updates and changes from Purley Oaks Primary School. As a result of the new rules, from 7 November parents entering the playground and parents on duty on the school premises are required to wear face coverings. Teachers working in ‘Bubbles’ are exempt from the requirement to wear face coverings on the school premises. We earnestly ask all parents and carers not to ignore these guidelines. We are guests at this school and must follow the guidelines that they themselves observe. In addition, every measure we take increases the safety of both pupils and staff. This allows us to ensure the continuity of face-to-face teaching, which is the best form of education for children and young people.
So, Dear Parents, please remember your masks on Saturday! Please also remember that the following apply:
– entry through the correct gate at the correct time,
– one parent/carer with their child/children on the playground,
– social distancing,
– washing and sanitising hands on entering the school building for duty.
With warm regards
Irena Kukuła, Headteacher
