Dear Parents,
This Saturday, 5 October, parents of pupils in classes A1 and G are on duty; on 12 October, parents of A2 and F pupils. We kindly ask you to attend!
The following events are coming up in October:
5 October, 12:45 – General Meeting of the School Council. All parents of our school have the right and the duty to attend. At the meeting, reports on the school's teaching and pastoral, administrative and financial activities in the 2018/2019 school year will be presented. You may bring your children to the meeting; however, parents who would like to leave them in supervised care should collect their children from their classrooms at 12:30 and bring them to the staff room.
On 5 and 12 October, items left behind last school year – lunchboxes, coats, jumpers – will be laid out in the Theatre Hall. If your child has lost something, please come and have a look. After 12 October we will have to throw away whatever is left.
12 October at 11:40 – pupil induction ceremony (Pasowanie na Ucznia) for children in the A classes. Parents with children in the A classes are warmly invited to this ceremony. We will meet in the Theatre Hall. Information about the children's clothing and all other details will be passed on to you by the class teachers.
Soon, on 19–20 October, we will be celebrating Polish Diaspora Bilingualism Day.
We invite the Polish diaspora around the world to follow the events of this celebration of the Polish language and to join in this year's celebrations. For children, every day is a chance to conquer the world – and bilingualism makes that easier. But see for yourselves in the short videos. They are well worth watching!!
Bilingualism in a mixed family? How do you combine two cultures? Is it worth it?
How can bilingualism influence the career choices of young people born outside Poland? Can knowing a second language help you find your dream job?
With warm regards
Irena Kukuła Headteacher
