Dear Parents,
At our last school Saturday, 19 November, the Parents' Committee held a collection for Children In Need. £304.44 was raised. The money has already been paid into the charity's account. A big thank you to the children and parents for taking part and for your support!
This Saturday St Nicholas will visit our school. He is sure to have a little gift for everyone :) I would like to let you know that photos of siblings with St Nicholas will be taken after lessons. Parents must collect their children and bring them to the hallway with the fireplace (the hall between classes Z1 and Z2).
I am also delighted to share that the Familia Centrum Pomocy Rodzinie (Familia Family Support Centre) project is organising a Christmas and St Nicholas' party on Saturday 10 December, 14:00–18:00, in the Jazz Cafe hall at the POSK (Polish Social and Cultural Association) centre (Hammersmith). At the event, the organisers are offering a festive meal, live music, games for children and, for adults, the chance to get advice from family specialists, including lawyers, therapists and parenting skills advisers. Admission is free.
We would also like to remind you that the guide ‘Szkolnictwo w Anglii’ (Education in England), aimed at parents and at organisations working with migrants, is published at http://www.polskamacierz.org/dla-rodzicow/british-mainstream-education/. The publication is in Polish and gives a comprehensive explanation of the British education system, the different types of school, how to apply for places, moving between schools, exams and what is taught in different types of school.
And closer to home? We would like to remind parents that every Saturday (according to the timetable) there are Dance Fitness classes for you from 9:00–10:00 (Ms Agnieszka Bogucka) and yoga classes at 12:40–13:40 (Ms Anna Żukowska). Do join in! Ms Bogucka also asks parents not to walk through the sports hall while classes are in progress. It makes the lesson harder for both the instructor and the participants, and affects everyone's safety.
On 17 December our school will hold its Christmas Celebration Day. More information soon. Parents interested in booking a stall are asked to contact the Chair of the Parents' Committee, Ms Katarzyna Handzel. Stalls remain the same price – £15.
This Saturday, parents of class B1 pupils are on duty; on 10 December, parents of class A2 pupils.
With warm regards,
Irena Kukuła Headteacher
