Dear Parents,
On 28 January, parents of pupils in the Pre-school and GCSE 1 (Ms Ola's class) are on duty.
On 4 February – parents of pupils in class F.
We very much ask you to be there, especially on Saturdays when only one class is on duty. Last Saturday we came close to cancelling lessons, because at 9:10 only 4 parents had reported for duty, plus 2 making up missed duties. Under our procedures, the school cannot continue lessons unless there are 12–15 parents on duty. We take children's safety very seriously. Thanks to phone calls made by the parents who were on duty, enough people had arrived by 10:00. However, we can spare ourselves this stress. We earnestly ask you: please turn up for your duty
The second unfortunate matter is inappropriate parking. The school has received a complaint, this time with photographs. Residents of the street keep a close eye on whether we follow the rules and report every offence to Purley Oaks, and sometimes also to Croydon Council, asking us to deal with the problem. Please remember that we must not park on the zigzags, and we must not block the road or driveways. It may happen that a resident sends photos of your car to the local authorities – and there is no need for that. I attach, for your information, the ones received last Saturday. We have obscured the number plates.
CARNIVAL BALL
On 28 January, the younger classes will have a Carnival Ball. You will receive all the information about it from the class teachers. I would just like to add that on this day there will be a hot chocolate stall for children who would like some, at £1 a cup.
BOOK DAY – MEET THE AUTHOR
On 4 February 2023, our pupils will meet the author Mr Wojciech Filaber. After the meeting, children will be able to buy books, colouring books, puzzles and magnets.
TALENT FESTIVAL
In keeping with our school tradition, we will celebrate Patron's Day with a Talent Festival. This year we invite you to the Fifth Talent Festival, which will take place on 4 March 2023.
We therefore invite all talented and willing children to sign up and show their skills on stage. We look forward to entries from singers, pianists, guitarists and all other musicians; from gymnasts and athletes; and from anyone blessed with other, equally valuable talents!
Dates and details to remember:

SQUARE LOTTERY

Tickets can be bought in the café every Saturday between 9:00 and 12:30. Please bring cash with you. The lottery will close and the prize draw will take place on 8 April.
With warm regards
