In May 2026 the final-year class A-level 2 held a very special end-of-year celebration. Their teachers, Piotr Kośla and Agnieszka Mikrut, in the presence of parents and the school leadership, gave this year's final-year students a formal farewell.

A film, memories and a competition

It was an emotional occasion: many parents had tears in their eyes, and memories of past years resonated particularly strongly during the screening of a film summing up the students' journey through the school.

A competition to recognise students from their childhood photos brought a great deal of fun. The youngest pupils from the Pre-school also took part in the event and gave their oldest schoolmates a lovely send-off.

The ceremony took place in a festively prepared room, with laid tables and a screen showing a red-and-white slide with the school's name. Graduates in mortarboards received flowers and gifts and posed for group photos with their teachers, and among the guests was a figure in period costume – in a gold gown and a white wig. There was also the throwing of mortarboards into the air and a cake congratulating the class of 2026, decorated with the logo of AQA – the exam board that runs the A-level exam in Polish.

The culmination of their school journey

In Poland, the farewell to final-year students has a special setting – it is preceded by the studniówka, a ball held roughly a hundred days before the matura (the Polish school-leaving exam). A-level Polish is a British exam usually taken at the end of secondary education and taken into account by universities in admissions. Preparing for it at Saturday school requires steady work alongside study at a British school, which is why completing this stage is a source of particular pride for the students, their families and their teachers.

It was a day full of emotion, pride and celebrating together. We wished the graduates good luck in their final exams.
