‘Here come the first-years, once little tots,
One and all, brave little troopers.
Faces washed and hands clean,
Each one carries a satchel on their back.
With beating hearts they stand before the school.
What will it be like for them here? – Fun, it seems.’

On 12 October 2019 our school held its Pupil Induction Ceremony (Pasowanie na Ucznia). Children from classes A1 and A2 were officially welcomed into the community of pupils of the F. Chopin Polish Saturday School.
The children prepared beautifully with the help of our teachers and their assistants. They proudly sang the song
‘Jestem Polakiem’ (I Am Polish)
The little train is waiting at the station
Today all the children will ride it to get to know the country
The little train will speed far away
And surely many adventures will meet us on the way
Chorus: We are a Polish girl and a Polish boy
A great girl and a boy
We love Poland with all our might
We want you to love it too
And you.
There was also a beautiful entrance to a polonaise, and the song ‘Kolorowe kredki’ (Coloured Crayons). Mr Radosław Mierzejewski took care of the music for the songs our little ones sang, for which we thank him very much – great job!
Using a ‘magic’ pencil, the Headteacher, Ms Irena Kukuła, admitted each child into the community of pupils of our school. The delighted children proudly stepped forward to be inducted.
For the superb set design, we thank Ms Stefania Wojciechowska – everything looked wonderful!
The form teachers of classes A1 and A2, Ms Ewa Karpińska and Ms Sylwia Wołowiec, despite having so little time, prepared everything flawlessly with the help of their assistants, for which we thank them very much – you are amazing.
We also thank:
The parents – for helping to prepare their little ones for such an important day.
The Headteacher, Ms Irena Kukuła – for her beautiful speech and for taking part in a ceremony so important for our children.
And also the children, who worked hard to do so well.
I would like to thank Ms Ewa Karpińska for her help in gathering information for this article and for the class photos.
