Nativity plays and festivities · 2026
‘There is a festival that comes once a year, awakening life and making time stand still.’ What festival is it, how do we celebrate it and what do we do at that time? Pupils in one of our classes looked for the answers to these questions during Saturday lessons before Easter 2026. The children completed worksheets, built sentences using a dice, decorated Easter egg outlines with patterns and made colourful paper hares. A Polish Easter means, among other things, painted Easter eggs (pisanki), the blessing of food on Holy Saturday, a festive Easter breakfast and śmigus-dyngus on Easter Monday – customs well worth passing on to children, even far from Poland.
