Dear Parents,
We have begun another school year – our JUBILEE year, our TENTH!!! Happy anniversary, our dear school – may you live long, joyfully and happily!!
Many wonderful pupils, teachers and parents have passed through our school's doors. In last year's exams, 1 student completed A-level with an A* grade; 8 students received an A and 2 students a B.
At GCSE, 4 students achieved a grade 9 and 2 students a grade 8. All of them achieved a Distinction in speaking.
Superb results!! Everyone, big and small, is welcome to join us!
We also receive messages of thanks from parents who, for various reasons, will no longer be sending their children to our school:
‘I would like to let you know that we have decided to return to Poland. As a result, from September 2021 our daughters will no longer attend classes at the Frederic Chopin School in Croydon.
At the same time, I would like to thank all the teachers and form tutors for all the years of learning together, for their time, their support and their constant encouragement in gaining knowledge and learning Polish. We wish the school continued success and all the teachers joy and satisfaction in their work.’ E.S
‘THE MOST PRECIOUS AND LASTING GIFT YOU CAN GIVE A CHILD IS AN EDUCATION’
I would like to thank the Headteacher and the whole Teaching Staff Council most warmly for their great patience, extraordinary understanding and the enormous effort they put into shaping our daughter.
Sadly, we will not see each other in the new school year, as we are moving away. Our daughter will miss her Saturday mornings at the Polish school, her teachers and her friends. It was a wonderful time for all of us and we will keep lovely memories. We wish you success in your professional and personal lives.’ Iwona
‘We regret to inform you that our children will not continue at the Polish Saturday School in the 2021/22 school year because we are moving house.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all the years during which the boys learned about Polish history, language and customs. I am convinced that you played a huge part in their education. I wish you good luck and success in the future.’ Monika Z.
‘I would like to inform you that from September 2021 my daughter will no longer attend classes at the school. We apologise for letting the school know so late. We would like to thank all the teaching staff for three wonderful years. Special thanks go to Ms Sylwia Wolowiec, whom our daughter liked very much and whose every lesson she enjoyed attending.’ B.K
To mark our school's 10th anniversary, we are preparing – as far as the pandemic allows – a range of events and celebrations. One of them will be the 10 for 10 campaign: ten challenges for the school's 10th anniversary.
CHALLENGE ONE – on 25 September at 10:10, all classes will meet on the school field to do 10 squats together.
If you would like to see whether we rose to the challenge and to support the school, we warmly invite donations towards prizes for school competitions, school T-shirts and other educational materials for our pupils. Thank you!
High five – we're turning ten!!!!
We already have a page!!!

Parents on duty that day are also invited to join in the challenge.
On 25 September the parents of pupils in classes E2 and A2 are on duty; on 2 October the parents of pupils in the A-level class and Pre-school.
Over the next two Saturdays, 25/09 and 2/10, we will be accepting applications for the issue or renewal of the pupil ID card for Polish pupils abroad (legitymacja polonijna). To apply, please:
-
Print and complete the application form (attached) – only the fields marked in BLUE.
-
If you are renewing an existing ID card, attach it to the application.
-
Applications will be collected by the school administrator in a special box outside the Theatre Hall (entrance from Bynes Road).
Please note that at the end of the application you must sign to confirm receipt of the ID card, even before the school sends the forms to the Consulate. The Consulate has set this requirement because of the pandemic and the need to limit contact.
You are warmly invited to our new (old, pre-COVID) extra-curricular activities:
-
French with Ms Aleksandra Czerny – from October, after lessons, at 12:30. For more information and to sign up, call 07772 383 618 or e-mail ola.czerny@polskaszkolacroydon.co.uk
-
Trampolining with Ms Ania Właśniak. Information is attached, and you can get further details by calling 07511276019.
Would anyone else be interested in working as a Teaching Assistant? We still need willing hands and hearts. Please contact the Headteacher about this.
Warm regards
Irena Kukuła
