This coming Saturday, thanks to Teatr ‘Trip’, the children and we will be transported into the world of art and imagination. Saturday classes on 18 March (parents of pupils in classes B2+P1 are on duty) will be the last but one this term. We will meet for the last time before the Easter break on 25 March (parents of pupils in classes B1+P2 are on duty).

A reminder that there is a STRICT BAN on parents who are not on duty that day walking around or remaining on the school premises. The school does not permit parents to walk through the school or a classroom in order to help their children or collect them. Every entry onto the school premises must be reported at the main entrance and an ID badge collected. Late children must also be brought to the main entrance, from where they will be taken to their classrooms by the parents on duty. These rules are the same as in British schools and relate to children's safety at school.

We encourage all children to take part in the ongoing library competition. Please hand in completed work to the library staff by the morning of 25 March at the latest. If you have any questions, please contact the librarians. The competition results and prize-giving will take place on the last day of school.

We also encourage you to take part in the Kościuszko Bicentenary competition, organised to mark the International Kościuszko Year by Kościuszko Heritage, based in Sydney (Australia), in cooperation with The Kosciuszko Foundation in New York, the Kościuszko Mound Committee in Kraków and the Polish Kościuszko Foundation in Warsaw. The initiative aims to interest the artistic world in the figure of Tadeusz Kościuszko and to promote the values he championed around the world.

The competition is held in two age categories (young people aged 12–18 and adults) in the fields of music (composing a piece), graphic art (portraits, genre scenes, collages, comics etc.) and literature (poems, short stories etc. in Polish or English). Entries are accepted until 31 July 2017. Prizes with a total value of over 10,000 Australian dollars await the winners. The best works will be presented at concerts and exhibitions in Australia and other countries in the Jubilee Year 2017. The results will be announced on 3 October this year at a gala in Sydney.

Please direct all questions to the competition coordinator, Ms Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek, President of Kościuszko Heritage in Australia, ernestyna@kosciuszkoheritage.com

Warm regards,
