Christmas is associated with many beautiful traditions and customs. One of them is the nativity play and singing carols together. On 9 December we were brought into the festive atmosphere by our pupils who, together with their teachers, prepared performances recalling the events of over two thousand years ago, when the Christ Child was born in Bethlehem. The children played the roles of Mary and Joseph, shepherds, angels and the three kings coming to pay homage to Jesus, born in a humble stable. There were also modern nativity plays, prepared by the oldest pupils. The performances were made even more charming by Christmas carols, which filled everyone with festive joy and let us feel the magic of the approaching holidays. Teachers, parents and invited guests joined in the carol singing.
After the nativity plays we had the opportunity to taste festive dishes. We thank the Parents' Committee for the work they put into preparing the Christmas Eve specialities! We also thank everyone who brought their baking for the Festive Day. Thank you very much!
With this, we have completed Term 1 in our new school. We have settled in at Purley Oaks and I think we like it here 😉 we meet again after the Christmas break, on 6 January 2018 at 9:00.
We wish everyone a beautiful Christmas! Peace, love and joy. May the birth of Jesus be not only a remembrance, but a conviction that He who was born is with us. He has the power to resolve what is humanly impossible to resolve. May He support you, your plans and your dreams in the New Year, 2018.
On behalf of all the school staff
