Dear Parents,

May the New Year turn over a new leaf and bring each of you goodness and hope.

On 30 December 2020 the government announced restrictions on in-person teaching in schools. Following discussions with the manager of Purley Oaks, all our pupils must switch to remote learning on 9 January 2021, while on 16 January the GCSE and A-level students will return to school. We hope that on 23 January we will all be back in the school building, as the government plans to reopen primary schools on Monday 18 January. Our teachers will teach lessons through Google Classroom, as they did in the spring, and will agree with you how and when these will take place. You will receive all the details from class teachers by e-mail. We kindly ask that children take part in the lessons, so that all pupils have equal opportunities once we are back at school.

We would also like to let you know that, owing to the continuing uncertain situation, we are not planning to prepare new pupils for First Holy Communion this year.

From January, Ms Joanna Smaga will join our teaching staff. She graduated in Polish philology from the University of Warsaw, where she also completed postgraduate studies in history. Ms Joanna will teach history in classes F and G. Welcome, Joanna – we wish you joy and fulfilment in your work at our school!

We would like to remind you that the deadline for school fees passed on 31 December. The fees are: £108 for the first child £198 for two children £279 for three or more children. Payments can be made to the school's account: Frederic Chopin Polish Saturday School Account number: 61176160 Sort code: 30-98-97 Lloyds Bank. Please enter the child's full name as the payment reference.

With warm regards
